Mountain Biking

We can offer secure indoor bike storage  and trail maps.

Only 3 miles from the downhill mountain bike routes of Blaenau Ffestiniog. Also, within easy access to several major internationally-known mountain bike trails. These include the trails in the Gwydyr Forest, including the Marin Trail, the Penmachno Forest Trails and the wide choice of routes of Coed y Brenin.

In July 2012 a much anticipated trail centre, Antur Stiniog, opened its doors. Set in the historical slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog its setting is unique to say the least. Antur Stiniog is one of only a few uplift centres in Wales which means you can spend the day riding and barely pedal. It’s recommended that you book the uplift service via Antur Stiniog website to avoid disappointment.

Gwydyr Forest

Antur Stiniog is predominantly a downhill and freeride centre with blue, red, black and double black trails. We’re talking big trail features including flowy berms, big tabletops, rocky descents and double jumps built for a range of abilities. The uplift shuttle is direct and quick so it’s possible to cover between 10-15 descents in one day. Confident riders will get the most out of this trail centre as even the blue graded trail is fast and steep at times.

The Marin Trail is a proper mountain bike trail in every sense of the term. Big climbs, big descents, brilliant singletrack and truly awesome scenery make this trail to remember. Most, but not all, of the climbs are on forest roads and tracks giving you time to take in the views of the mountains of Snowdonia, and all the descents are on the sweetest singletrack. The singletrack varies from very tight, technical and rocky to wonderfully open and flowing, from dark forest to exposed ridgelines.
