Equipment Checklist

The following is intended as a guide for those making their first visit to Cae’r Blaidd on one of our courses. If you already have certain items such as walking boots, please feel free to bring them, but let us check their suitability before using them. There is no additional charge for any of the equipment that we provide. Please do not incur any additional expense by purchasing equipment before your visit, but by all means contact us if you require advice.

What we provide:Winter Sports

  • Walking Boots
  • Rock Boots
  • Wellies
  • Cagoule
  • Overtrousers
  • Polar Fleece Jacket
  • Day Sack
  • Woollen Hat
  • Dachstein Mittens
  • Fingerless Mitts
  • Woollen Socks
  • Head Torch
  • Vacuum Flask
  • Water Bottle

All technical gear including:

Helmet, Harness, Ice Axe, Crampons, Snow Goggles, Daysack, Map & Compass

What you should bring:

  • A complete change of clothing in case of getting wet
  • Shirt / Sweatshirt
  • Thermal Top / Tee Shirt
  • Sweater / Fleece ( 2 thin sweaters provide more warmth than one thick)
  • Trousers / Leggings / Tracksuit or similar. (NOT  Jeans which provide little warmth when wet)
  • Handkerchief
  • Thick socks
  • Large Poly Bag or Bin Liner (useful for keeping spare clothing dry inside day sack)
